Running your own business is not easy; besides anything, people who work for themselves have the toughest bosses! This week I’ve stumbled into a business conundrum that’s reflected in daily life – when you’ve been doing something one way for a long time, and realise one day that the one way isn’t working for you… psychologists say one cannot break a bad habit; one can only replace it with a good habit. But oh boy! Human beings hate change!
Doing something the same way you’ve done it forever, despite the fact that you are getting negative results, brings to mind the quote be Albert Einstein, “doing what you’ve always done and expecting a different result is the definition of insanity”
So if it turns out that you are required to be dairy free for better health, why can you not see past cereal and milk for breakfast? Think for 1 minute how many options are actually out there that you have never considered. Could this be the beginning of a great culinary adventure? Because, in the last 10 years, how many times have you changed your hairstyle or colour? Changed your curtains? Your furniture? Your style of dress? Your dentist?
We can change our habits, especially if they’re becoming detrimental… I think we just need the correct motivation.
